Services
Prenatal Support
We will meet 1-2 times after the initial interview.
The first meeting we will discuss your vision for your birth, where you plan to birth, previous birth experiences, review of what happens during birth, self-care, etc.
The second meeting we will go more in depth on comfort measures, practice some of the comfort measures, the stages of labor and planned comfort measures for each stage, review of the birth plan, and postpartum stages (like how you plan to feed baby, home-care, meal plans, etc.)
First half of retention due at first meeting | Second half due at second meeting
Postpartum
The first 3 months after birth, also known as the “4th trimester” is as much a part of your pregnancy and birth journey as the first 9 months were! As I continue to aspire as a postpartum doula, I would love to do what I can to support you during those first 3 months.
(Postpartum support is a separate fee. Let’s connect over the phone about what that looks like!)
Birth Support
I will be on-call starting at 37 weeks, and will be there to support you throughout your whole birth until baby is born - encouraging you, walking through comfort measures, advocating for you, and supporting you as you birth a precious life, and through that Golden Hour after birth. Details will be laid out in the contract for what this looks like.
Lactation Support
DONA certified Doulas are required to take a basics in lactation course required for certification. Though I am not an IBCLC, CLC, CLE, or CLS (yet!), I have breastfed 2 of my 4 children, for a year each, and therefore have some tips and tricks up my sleeve (plus a whole lot of encouragement!) to support you in your breastfeeding journey.
(No fee. Expectations for support discussed during first meeting)
The Breakdown
Free! I simply want to connect via phone or video call so we can get to know each other a little bit. We will discuss your birth experience/s, what services I provide, a brief overview of what you can expect from these services, and my retainer for working together. If we decide it would be a good relationship for both of us to move forward in, we will schedule the 1st Prenatal Meeting.
15-30 min. Interview
In-Person, we will meet at Edelweiss Bakery and Coffee shop in Prior Lake, MN. During this meeting we will go more in-depth on getting to know one another, what specifically is provided, go over resources, put together a birth plan rough draft, assign homework, and sign a client-doula agreement. Then we will schedule the 2nd Prenatal Meeting.
1 Hour | 1st half of the Fee is due at this time
1st Prenatal Meeting
This will be in person at your home so we can practice comfort measures! We will also review the birth plan together, and discuss a postpartum plan. A 3rd, optional meeting, will be determined, if needed, at this time.
1 hour | 2nd half of the Fee is due at this time
2nd Prenatal Meeting
I will be on-call starting at 37 weeks, then will be there to support you throughout your whole birth until baby is born, with allotted breaks for self-care. Details will be laid out in the contract for what this looks like.
24+hrs | + abt. 45 mins after birth for the Golden Hour
Birth and Labor/Delivery
This will take place 6 weeks post-partum. The goal is to review the birth - we will “compare notes” to put together a full picture of how the birth went, how you feel about your birth experience (the good and the not so good!), and how you are doing after the first month of motherhood. We will also discuss your mental, physical, and emotional help as I provide what resources and encouragement that I can. I will also bring a healthy, post-partum meal for you and your family.
